I've improved things a little - the personal tools are now down the sidebar on the left, instead of along the top, and I've removed the empty logo space. It would be nice if we had a better background image than the default mediawiki one. Once we have that, I'll look into making things semi-transparent so that you can see the background still.

Background

I've uploaded a new background, and made it the default. I've also set up some transparency on the portlet boxes (the boxes on the left), so that you can see some of the background. I tried enabling transparency on the rest of the page, but couldn't get it to work - I'll have another go if I completely rewrite the skin/style/whatever you wanna call it.
